Vale of Glamorgan Wedding – The Plough & Harrow Monknash

Vale of Glamorgan Wedding

In June I was asked if I could second shoot for Sian Owen on a lovely wedding in the Vale of Glamorgan.
I was delighted to say yes, especially as it was such a gorgeous relaxed wedding to photograph, just my style!
I met with the groom Will and his groomsmen at The Plough and Harrow Monknash in the Vale of Glamorgan. It is beautiful old pub that I have spent many a lovely afternoon in with my family. It is full of fond memories for me!

St.James Church in Wick had been beautifully decorated with jars of fresh flowers and candles. Will and the groomsmen lit the candles before the guests started to arrive. I love it when a couple do personal touches themselves and this wedding was indeed a celebration of ‘them’ as a couple. Acoustic guitarist Scott Morgan played music as the guests arrived and this gave a great atmosphere.

The ceremony was emotional, with happy tears from the bride and guests. Yasmin looked just incredible in one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen. Lace and full tulle, my favourite combination!
The day was bright and breezy and the wind whipped up just as Yasmin and Will stepped out of the church. This gave for some windy group photographs but I rather love that!

The Reception

Back over to the Marquee at The Plough and Harrow and the guests mingled and drank Pimms and Champagne. Scott once again provided the background music which created a lovely laid back mood. I’d highly recommend him if you’re looking for a musician for your wedding!

The Vale of Glamorgan is beautiful and has the most stunning countryside. So after the wedding breakfast we took the newlyweds for a walk down the lane by the pub and found a perfect field for some couple photographs. These are some of my favourites from the day…
I also noticed a lovely old stone barn with worn doors which looked like the perfect backdrop for more photographs, and it did not disappoint. Fields and a lovely old door make me a very happy photographer!

Back to the party and the first dance, I loved the use of sparklers for this! It gave an extra special sparkle!

We left the newlyweds to party with their guests on this lovely June evening, the perfect start to married life together!

If you are planning your own Vale of Glamorgan wedding then do get in touch, I’d love to hear your plans!

I hope you enjoy my images from this wonderful wedding,
