The Green Cornwall is a beautiful wedding venue nestled in the Cornish countryside on the edge of Bodmin moor.
It is described as a “wedding village” and that’s exactly how it feels. Old stone cottages and rustic barns decorated with bunting and fairy lights provide a pretty country vibe and relaxed feel.
Fiona contacted me shortly after Stephen proposed and asked if I would like to photograph their wedding. It was going to be an intimate ceremony with just them and the children. They had a big party to celebrate with family and friends a couple of days after, I love this idea!
I’ve photographed Fiona and Steve several times over the last few years. There was a family shoot, a maternity shoot when Fiona was pregnant and a newborn shoot when Frankie was born. So I was over the moon when she wanted me to photograph their wedding day!
Having the ceremony at The Green Cornwall felt just perfect. I arrived on a beautiful Spring morning. The sound of birds chirping in the trees and the smell of freshly cut grass was idyllic. Fiona and Stephen were in one of the lovely cottages with an amazing view of the countryside. Little Frankie was having a lovely time running around with her brother Oscar and sister Cleo!
I began with the bridal preparation shots of the dress and the flowers. Then Fiona’s make-up artist Sadie Elizabeth arrived to transform Fiona into the most gorgeous bride! Fiona’s wedding dress was so unique, she had alterations made and I love the high-low hemline! It was beautiful and just perfect for Fiona. She also made the bouquets and buttonholes and her flowers for her hair too! She is so clever!
I shrieked when I saw her shoes… pink Christian Louboutins!!! Absolute heaven!!! I simply had to get ring shots with those heels!
The wedding ceremony took place in the Wedding Barn. The Green Cornwall have a choice of ceremony locations and the barn was perfect for them. I honestly felt so honoured to be a part of this wedding. Especially as I was the only person in attendance other than the registrars and the children. It is something I never take for granted and feel privileged to witness.
Fiona walked in accompanied by her son Oscar to “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves. It felt such an appropriate song especially on a sunny day like this!
After the ceremony I took my chance to take some portraits of the children before they decided they wanted to go off running around the grounds. (Which was bound to happen – and it did!) Oscar, Cleo and Frankie were absolute stars and I adore their close relationship. Oscar is such a proud big brother and both he and Cleo are adorable looking after little Frankie!
As the children played I took the newlyweds for a walk around the gardens for their couple portraits. We found a lovely little woodland path, The Green Cornwall certainly has plenty of choice when it comes to photographs!
After the portraits I left the family to enjoy their afternoon together. They were blessed with the most perfect day and I wish them so much love and happiness for years to come.
Mr & Mrs Bramman-Flynn here is your wedding preview, I hope you love them as much as I do!
If you are reading this and considering The Green Cornwall as your wedding venue, then I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. It is just dreamy and Andrea the wedding coordinator was so lovely and helpful – you’re in safe hands.
I hope I have the pleasure of photographing more gorgeous weddings here, and do get in touch if you’re looking for your wedding photographer!
