Baby Imogen was just 9 days old when I had the pleasure of photographing her for her newborn shoot.
What an adorable little girl she is! She was so good throughout her shoot and I must admit I adored her instantly!
Photography Shoot At Home
As a Lifestyle Photographer I like to photograph newborns in their own home. I capture real life moments as much as possible. Moments with parents, siblings and even family pets that might like to sneak into the photographs. Just like the family dog Rolo did in Imogen’s shoot!
For me, newborn photography is about showing life with your newborn as it is at the time. Photographing your baby in their own room in their cot with their special toys and blankets are moments that you will treasure. You will look back on them in years to come and instantly be transported back to the time when your child was a tiny newborn!
I aim to stir up real life memories and feelings, which I believe works best in a real home setting.
My shoots are a mixture of very natural moments “as they happen” along with some carefully posed shots.
Imogen was sleepy when I arrived for her shoot and we began by taking images of her in her cot in her nursery, she was so tiny in it!
As the shoot moved on there were times Imogen needed feeding, nappy changing and of course cuddles! There is never any pressure with the way I work and baby’s needs always come first. I want both baby and parents to feel as relaxed as possible.
As soon as I saw the lovely big window in the lounge with the sofa beneath it I knew it’d make a great spot for some natural shots.
Rolo the gorgeous Cocker Spaniel wanted to have centre stage for the images! I loved this, he is clearly very fond of his new family member!
Imogen was a delight to photograph and I hope you enjoy looking through her images.
